In 1919, a building was erected in the middle school field at this time, but was destroyed in 1926 annihilative floods. In 1928, a two-storey stone building was built and Sir Hugh Clifford who was the regulator of the Straits Settlements, High Commissioner-cum-Associate States was officially named the next building and Clifford drill (Clifford School).
During Japanese occupation, this building has been turned into Police Headquarters army Japan (Kempetai). After the resumption of school in 1945.
